Face Yoga Ibiza with Giusi Ferrato

Good morning my dear, 

Today’s  post is very special for me, I want to talk about health and beauty, and this time I am not alone,  I am   with my Face yoga  teacher  and professional make-up artist Giusi Ferrato.

I wanted  introduce to you  this practice that I find amazing because we can take care of our beauty naturally. 

I wanted to interview Giusi  and share all this information  with you.

“Hello Giusi! 

What  is Face Yoga?

GIU: Face Yoga is based on physiotherapy techniques for the recovery and activation of facial and head muscles, breathing techniques , mudras and facial massage. 

When  practicing  face yoga you oxygenate the tissues and promote cell regeneration and blood flow . 

Did you know that we have more than 60 muscles in our face that we never use ? 

We need to move them to maintain their natural elasticity.

How did you discover face yoga?

GIU: As a makeup artist  I was always  interested in everything concerning the skin,  working on faces every day I saw the changes  that come with ageing more than others.

Talking  about this with my girlfriend Emina  Cervo Vukovic,  Writer and Yoga trainer in Milan , she told me of her studies about Face Yoga, 

I found it extremely interesting and started to investigate on my own and to practice face yoga along with my normal daily yoga routine.

After a while of practice, friends and family started to notice that my skin was more radiant, with a new glow.

How did you start to teach Face Yoga ?

GIU: As a nature lover and beauty consultant I was delighted with the discovery of  Face Yoga, so I started to teach my models on the set, there are some postures that are very good to awaken the face and eyes. Also, actors use it a lot before recording or going on stage.

After how long the results are noticed?

GIU:  After a month if you practice daily with awareness, longer if you only do it once a week.

At what age do you recommend to start?

GIU:  Why not now?

It is estimated that the skin, from the age of  25 loses naturally the elastin and collagen at a rate of 1% annually.

 The skin loses its ability to retain water and elasticity, wrinkles are the result.

While biological ageing is the main cause, the formation of the first wrinkles originates from the continuous and involuntary movements that makes our face, through the contraction and relaxation of muscles.

Should we follow the same treatment for everyone?

In the first class we look at the conditions of the skin,  and from there we see which is best program according of your skin type. The ideal would be to beginning with a  one to one class. 

So now everyone lets learn and practice Face  Yoga!”

El post de hoy es muy especial porque os quiero hablar de salud y belleza, y esta vez no estoy sola sino con mi profesora de Yoga Facial y maquilladora profesional Giusi Ferrato.

Quería presentaros esta práctica que encuentro genial, porque nos permite cuidar nuestra belleza de forma natural. Quise entrevistar a Giusi porque quería compartir con vosotros todas estas informaciones.

¿Qué es el yoga facial?

El yoga facial se basa en técnicas de fisioterapia para la recuperación y la activación de la musculatura facial y craneal, en técnicas de respiración, mudras y auto-masaje. Su práctica oxigena los tejidos y favorece la regeneración celular y el flujo sanguíneo. ¿Sabías que tenemos más de 60 músculos en nuestra cara que nunca usamos? Necesitamos moverlos para mantener su natural elasticidad.

¿Cómo lo conociste?

Como maquilladora siempre me ha interesado todo lo que concierne a la piel. Trabajando sobre las caras a diario quizás note más que otros los cambios que provoca el paso del tiempo. Hablando de ello con mi amiga Emina Cervo Vukovic  escritora y entrenadora de yoga en Milán, me habló de sus estudios sobre el yoga facial. Me pareció muy interesante, empecé a investigar por mi cuenta y comencé a practicar el yoga facial con mi rutina diaria de yoga. Transcurridas unas semanas, la gente a mi alrededor empezó a notar un sensible cambio en mi piel: se me notaba mas más radiante, con un nuevo resplandor.

¿Cómo empezaste a dar clases de yoga facial?

Comoros amante de la naturaleza y profesional de la estetica  estaba encantada de haber descubierto el yoga facial, así que lo empece a enseñar a mis modelos en el set. Hay algunas asanas que sirven para despertar la cara y la mirada, los actores lo utilizan mucho antes de grabar o ir en escena.

¿Después de cuanto tiempo se notan los resultados?

Después de un mes si lo practicas con conciencia y a diario. Más tiempo si lo haces una vez por semana.

¿A qué edad hay que empezar?

¿Por qué no ahora?

A partir de los 25 años se calcula que la piel pierde naturalmente la elastina y el colágeno a razón de un 1% anual. Eso significa que la piel va perdiendo su capacidad de retener agua y su elasticidad. Las arrugas son el punto culminante.

Aunque el envejecimiento biológico es la causa principal, la formación de las primeras arrugas se origina a partir de los movimientos continuos e involuntarios que nuestro rostro realiza a través de la contracción y relajación de los músculos. Esta primera etapa de envejecimiento de la piel se localiza generalmente en la frente, alrededor de la boca y entre las cejas.

¿Hay que seguir el mismo tratamiento para todo el mundo?

En la primera clase miramos las condiciones de la piel y a partir de allí vemos qué programa es mejor para cada uno. Todos somos diferentes, con diferentes tipos de piel y costumbres, así que para cada uno hay un programa distinto. Lo ideal sería tener en principio clases individuales.

Enjoy San Jordi day with Elisa Pomar new Jewelry Collection

Precious jewellery, red roses and an enigmatic novel all in the setting of Ibiza’s Old Town, what more could I have asked for on San Jordi Day?

I was invited to the presentation of the new limited edition jewellery collection by Elisa Pomar, who I recently interviewed for Vintage Market Ibiza. (See here)

This was a special occasion, in which Elisa presented her new creations, which combine Rhombus stone, jewels, Swarovski crystals, white and rose gold. The signature elements of these eye-catching necklaces, chokers and bracelets are their colours, sparkle and the unique craftsmanship, which goes into their manufacture. This is the true identity of one of the most creative designers in Ibiza.

Together with my blogger colleagues, we were able to view these gorgeous pieces and wear them during the event. My choice was a sweet and elegant piece made from rose gold and Swarovski crystals, which I of course fell head over heels in love with.

During the event the writer, singer and director Chris Martos was signing copies of his new book “El Codigo“. With Ibiza as its  backdrop, this novel takes places in a setting of love, magic and mystery. A real page-turner I started to devour this book and couldn’t wait to get to the end, although its never good for something we like to come to an end.

It was a lovely moment, seeing and chatting with my fellow bloggers, the designer Tony Bonet and I would especially like to thank Montse from Imam Comunicación who always manages to get each detail down to a T.

As you can see life in Ibiza continues to be great and its just the start of the season.

Joyas preciosas, rosas rojas, una novela enigmática en el marco de Ibiza vieja? ¿Qué más podría pedir para celebrar el dia de San Jordi?

Fui invitada a la presentación de la nueva colección limitada de la diseñadora de joyas Elisa Pomar,  que hace poco entrevistè para Vintage Market Ibiza. ( Ver aqui)

En esta ocasión especial, Elisa presentó sus nuevas creaciones, en las que por primera vez aúna los tradicionales rombos y botones payeses en oro blanco, rosa y plata, con cristales de Swarovski. Collares, pendientes y pulseras en los que destacan el color y el brillo, junto con partes de las emprendada que es ya la seña de identidad de una de las creadoras más reconocidas de Ibiza

Junto con mis colegas bloggers, pudimos ver a  estas maravillas y llevarlas durante el evento. Mi elección fue el conjunto muy dulce y elegante en oro rosa con Swarovski: por supuesto me enamoré.

Durante el evento el escritor, cantante y director de cine Chris Martos estaba firmando ejemplares de su libro “El Código“, una novela ambientada en Ibiza, amor, magia y misterio, que ya empecé a leer y con ganas de descubrir el final, aunque cuando algo nos gusta no queremos que acabe.

Fue un momento muy agradable, incluso para ver y hablar com mis colegas bloggers, el diseñador Tony Bonet y un agradecimiento especial a Montse de Imam Comunicación, siempre perfecta en organizar cada detalle.

Así que la vida en Ibiza sigue muy bien y es sólo el principio de la temporada.

Obviamente, si vais a venir a la isla, os invito a visitar la boutique Elisa Pomar, que seguramente os encantará.

Hello Everybody!!

I want to tell you something about my health and beauty secrets today and what is my daily routine to take care of myself.

As you  know, I am a vegetarian food lover and yoga and nature addicted;  in fact for the next few months I have a very interesting program I want to share with you.

In May I will go to Adler Spa Resort in Val Gardena, Italy,  for participating at the Yoga retreat with Tyler Micocci, an exceptional teacher chosen by Yoga Festival and I confess you that I’ m really looking forward to it and to go back to my beloved Dolomites and take some relax in the most beautiful Spa Hotel  of Italy!!!

Then in June there are some events here on the island. Only few people know that in Ibiza there are many yoga centers, spiritual centers and every year there are festivals and retreats for well-being and health, not just nightlife and clubs.

Here there are my natural tips for your health and beauty.

Ciao a tutti!!

È da un po’ di tempo che volevo scrivere questo post per raccontarvi quali sono alcuni dei miei segreti di salute e bellezza, quella che è la mia routine quotidiana per prendermi cura di me e per volermi bene.

Come già avrete letto, sapete o visto nei miei social, sono un’ amante della cucina vegetariana, dello yoga e della natura e infatti per i prossimi mesi ho già un interessantissimo programma.

A maggio andrò all’ Hotel Adler di Ortisei nella mia adorata Val Gardena per partecipare allo Yoga retreat con Tyler Micocci, un maestro d’eccezione scelto da Yoga Festival e vi confesso che non vedo!  L’ Adler è il centro benessere più grande e spettacolare delle Dolomiti e sarà un sogno potervi trascorrere qualche giorno per prendermi un momento di pace e relax tra le mie belle montagne

In seguito a giugno anche qua ad Ibiza ci sarà una settimana dello yoga con diversi maestri e pratiche a cui non mancherò sicuramente.

In pochi sanno che ad Ibiza ci sono tantissimi centri yoga, centri spirituali e ogni anno vengono organizzati festival e ritiri per il benessere e la salute, quindi non solo vita notturna e discoteche.

Ma ecco quelli che sono i miei consigli per la vostra salute e bellezza.

1. Oil Pulling

For the health and beauty of my teeth and oral cavity, when I wake up in the morning I take a teaspoon of coconut oil (it can also be another vegetable oil such as sesame or sunflower) and I keep it in my mouth 20 minutes. At the beginning  it’s not easy, but then you get use to it . After this time the oil should be spat, never ingested. I rinse and brush my teeth normally with a device to the gums and tongue.

Appena mi sveglio al mattino, per la salute e bellezza dei miei denti e la cavità orale, prendo un cucchiaino di olio di cocco ( può essere anche un altro olio vegetale come sesamo o girasole ) e lo tengo in bocca 20 minuti. All’ inizio so che non è facile, ma poi vi farete l’ abitudine constatando i risultati. Passato questo tempo l’ olio va sputato, mai ingerito, mi risciacquo e mi lavo normalmente denti con un accorgimento alle gengive e alla lingua. E’ una pratica estremamente benefica e se volete saperne di più leggete:

2. Hot Water- Acqua calda

Before breakfast I take a glass of hot water. There are those who like it with lemon too.

Regularly drinking very warm water, especially in the morning, can heal our bodies, providing digestive power and reducing metabolic waste that could have built up in our immune system.

Prima di fare colazione prendo un bicchiere di acqua calda. C’è chi vi usa anche il limone, ma anche l’ acqua calda da sola fa benissimo. Normalmente è bene bere lontano dai pasti, difatti per colazione normalmente bevo solo succhi freschi, ma per queste cose lascio a chi di dovere, medici e nutrizionisti, dare i consigli più adeguati. Spero presto di fare qualche intervista da proporvi.

 3. Organic fresh juices- Succhi freschi di frutta e verdura

Since I bought it the juicer became my closest friend in the kitchen and it allows me to do fresh juices everyday. One of my favorite it is the green one with spinach, apples, lemon, ginger and turmeric. Soon I will make a post for you with all my favorite recipes.

L’ estrattore di succhi è diventato il mio più caro amico in cucina e mi permette di fare tutti i giorni succhi freschi di verdura e frutta. Uno dei miei preferiti è il succo verde con spinaci, mela, limone, zenzero e curcuma. Presto vi farò un post con tutte mie ricette preferite.

 

4. Organic food- Scegliere preferibilmente cibo biologico

Nowadays, there is a wide choice of shops and supermarkets where you can buy organic food. I prefer fresh food or without preservatives such as fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains. Oggi come oggi, c’è una vasta scelta di negozi o supermercati dove comprare cibo biologico dove ormai da tanti anni vado a fare la spesa. Tendenzialmente prediligo cibo fresco o senza conservanti come frutta, verdura, frutta secca e cereali. Come diceva Ippocrate nel V sec. A.C. “ Fa’ che il cibo sia la tua medicina e che la medicina sia il tuo cibo” , sono totalmente d’ accordo e lo metto in pratica.

 5. Self-made beauty products- Utilizzare prodotti di bellezza naturali o fai da te

I can eat it, so I can use it for my body!!! Apart from a few products I buy in organic supermarkets, such as shampoo or conditioner, everything else I try to do it alone using natural oils, essential oils, plants and products that are in fact in my kitchen. You can make face masks using yogurt, honey, cinnamon, cocoa, aloe, or hair products with rosemary and coconut oil, or fantastic body peeling with cane sugar. Se una cosa la posso mangiare so che farà bene anche al mio corpo e alla mia bellezza, quindi a parte qualche prodotto che compro nei supermercati biologici, come shampoo o balsamo, tutto il resto cerco di farlo da sola in casa utilizzando olii naturali, olii essenziali, piante e appunto prodotti che sono nella mia cucina. Potete farvi delle maschere per il viso utilizzando yogurt, miele, cannella, cacao, aloe, prodotti per i capelli con rosmarino e olio di cocco oppure dei peeling fantastici per il corpo con lo zucchero di canna. Presto qualche ricettina speciale per voi.

The beauty and youthfulness of our face is something that is very dear to women and few people know that there are natural remedies that can reduce or prevent wrinkles and give back the skin a beautiful color. They are called by many names such as face yoga, faceaerobic or natural facelift, but the reality is that training the facial muscles with specific exercises will give  amazing results. Believe me!! I am going to make a video about it very soon.

La bellezza e giovinezza del nostro viso è una cosa che sta molto a cuore a noi donne e in poche sanno che ci sono rimedi naturali che possono ridurre o prevenire le rughe e ridonare alla pelle un bel colore. Vengono chiamati con molti nomi come face yoga, faceaerobic o lifting naturale, ma la realtà è che allenando i muscoli del viso con esercizi precisi si ottengono risultati strabilianti. 7. Passeggiate nella Natura

Walking in the nature is one of the most important things to do for your health. Look for a park in your city or  try to do a trip out of the town. La Natura aiuta a ricaricarci, ci dà energia e quindi per me è essenziale ogni settimana passeggiarvi, correre e respirare aria buona.

Cercate un parco nella vostra città o se siete fortunati fate una gita fuori porta. E’ un rituale di benessere fondamentale per il vostro corpo.

 8. Yoga

I have been practicing Yoga in the last years getting very good results. Yoga is not just gymnastics, but it is a real lifestyle, an  inner work that unites the body and the spirit.
There are so many types of yoga that you can choose depending on what resonates most. A playful phrase, published by friend of mine, said: “Who says you can not do yoga because you are not flexible is like one who does not want to take a shower because is too dirty.” So everybody can do it and you’ll be surprised for the results.

yoga Come vi dicevo pocanzi sono alcuni anni che pratico Yoga potendo constatare ottimi risultati. Lo Yoga non è semplicemente una ginnastica, ma un vero e proprio stile di vita, un lavoro interiore che unisce il corpo e lo spirito.

Ci sono tanti tipi di Yoga che potete scegliere a seconda di quello che vi risuona di più. Una frase scherzosa, pubblicata da una mia amica insegnante diceva: “ Chi dice che non può fare yoga perché non è flessibile è come chi non vuole fare la doccia perché troppo sporco”.

 9. Meditation- Meditare

Meditation is one of the most important practice you have to do for your health.

Start with five minutes, concentrate your mind on your breathing, and slowly you will see the results. I hope we will talk about it soon.

Un tempo si parlava di meditazione solo in ristretti circoli, adesso è diventata una pratica che viene pubblicizzata a larga scala.

Quello che posso dire è che potere dedicare anche solo qualche minuto a noi stessi, nel silenzio della mente e fuori da tutti i pensieri che ci assillano durante la giornata è un vero e proprio allevio.

Iniziate con 5 minuti, concentrandovi sul vostro respiro e pian piano ne vedrete gli effetti. Spero proprio avremo modo di riparlarne.

10. Be Happy- Siate Felici 

Life is beautiful and our mind is powerful and creative! Try to fight for what you love and what you  love to do, because when you are happy everything takes a different color and we are able, as if we were magicians, to turn everything in gold.153

La vita è bella, la nostra mente è potente e creativa, cercate di lottare per ciò che amate e che vi piace fare, perché quando si è felici tutto prende un colore diverso e siamo capaci, come fossimo maghi con la bacchetta, di trasformare tutto in oro.

Hello Everybody,
how are you???
I am happy to show you today my first outfit during my week spent in Bologna in collaboration with the fantastic brand Om Made with Love.
I really felt in Love with their creations and beautiful showroom in the center of the town where the main color is Pink, so my favourite one. The owner and creative director is Elisa, a fantastic italian woman with a impressive sense of beauty and elegance.
I had a great time with her so i suggest you to visit her if you are in Bologna, take time to enjoy this place and her beautiful energy.
This look is very boho chic, so elegant with the pink coat made with Missoni whool and the short skirt and cashmere t-shirt. The jewellery are original creations made by her with real crystals and a lot of pink decorations. The hat is a present of my grandfather, so it has a deep and lovely meaning for me.

I felt so lucky to have such a nice people around me and Bologna gave me always so nice moment!!

¿¿¿cómo estáis???
Hoy estoy feliz de mostrar mi primer look de mi semana pasada en Bolonia, en colaboración con la fantástica marca OM made with Love.
Realmente me enamorè de sus creaciones y su showroom en el centro de la ciudad donde el color principal es el rosa, que ya sabeis es mi favorito.
La Designer es Elisa, una mujer italiana con un impresionante sentido de la belleza y de la elegancia.
Me lo pasè genial con ella, así que os sugiero de visitarle si estais en Bolonia, para disfrutar de este lugar y su hermosa energía.
Este outfit es muy Boho chic, muy elegante con la chaqueta de color rosa hecha lana de Missoni, faldita y camiseta negra de cachemir. Las joyas son sus creaciones originales realizadas con cristales y decoraciones siempre color rosa. El sombrero es un regalo de mi abuelo, por lo que tiene un significado profundo y precioso para mí.
