New video: Via Oberta a Nepal

Good morning and here we are with my first post on the distant Nepal.
My trip was intended to document the activities of the NGO Via Oberta in Nepal in Kaskikot and more precisely in the village of Louruk, half an hour’s drive from the most famous town of Pokhara, near the Himalayas.
In addition to the hostel where 15 people live, including 10 children, orphans or abandoned, the NGO carries out activities useful to the whole community such as the establishment of a night school, the vocational training center for women and the social dining centre for children.

The projects for the next 2018 will be the channels of water and the creation of a multifunctional center that brings together the school and the training center for women.
It was nice to know this reality and above all to know all the people who allow the NGO to continue its work to improve the lives of many people.
We received a traditional welcome, we met local political authorities and collected signatures to raise funds for these new projects.

Buongiorno ed eccoci con il mio primo post sul lontano Nepal.

Il mio viaggio aveva lo scopo di documentare le attività della ONG ibizenca Via Oberta a Nepal nella contea di Kaskikot e più precisamente nel villaggio di Louruk, a una mezz’ora di macchina dalla più famosa cittadina di Pokhara, ai piedi dell’ Himalaya.

Oltre alla casa di accoglienza dove vivono 15 persone, tra le quali 10 bambini, orfani o abbandonati, la ONG svolge attività utili a tutta la comunità come l’ istituzione di una scuola notturna, il centro di formazione professionale per le donne e la mensa sociale per i bambini. I progetti per il prossimo 2018 saranno la canalizzazione d’ acqua e la creazione di un centro multifunzionale che riunisca la scuola e il centro di formazione per le donne.
E’ stato bello potere conoscere questa realtà e soprattutto potere conoscere tutte le persone che permettono che la Ong continui il suo lavoro per migliorare la vita di tante persone.
Abbiamo ricevuto il benvenuto tradizionale, incontrato le autorità politiche locali e raccolto firme per potere raccogliere fondi per questi nuovi progetti.

Happy New Year

2017 has been a very intense year, a year that has led me to travel thru three continents, to meet many people, to question myself in my work and above all in my emotions.

It began with the presentation of the Adlib Moda Ibiza catalog in Madrid where I took on the role of ambassador together with my dear friends bloggers Anita Moreno and Monica Flaquer.

Africa was the beginning of a new chapter of my life that brought me back to Italy after years to learn new things with the Italian national filmmaker and videomaker association.

Ibiza is my home and it gave me a warm welcome making me spend a summer non-stop full of new emotions. Autumn brought me the peace I needed to prepare for the last trip of the year in  Nepal where I understood the essential and decided what I will do next year.

I do not say that all this path was easy, indeed, it was a year in some ways very hard, but I feel it was one of the most important years for my growth and my life.

Here are some photoses that remind me of this 2017 to which I dedicate a farewell full of emotions and I prepare myself for the new year that will come with that desire to do and wonder that we must never lose.

Questo 2017 è stato un anno molto intenso, un anno che mi ha portato  a viaggiare per tre continenti, conoscere tantissime persone, rimettermi in discussione nel lavoro e soprattutto nelle mie emozioni.

E’ iniziato con la presentazione del catalogo Adlib moda Ibiza a Madrid e prendere il ruolo di ambasciatrice di quest’ ultima insieme alle mie care amiche e colleghe Anita Moreno e Monica Flaquer.

L’ Africa è stata l’ inizio di un nuovo capitolo che mi ha riportata dopo anni in Italia per imparare nuove cose con l’ associazione nazionale filmaker e videomaker italiani, Ibiza è la mia casa e mi ha ridato un caldo benvenuto facendomi trascorrere un’ estate no stop piena di nuovi stimoli e soprattutto una nuova me. L’ autunno mi ha portato una tranquillità di cui avevo bisogno per prepararmi all’ ultimo viaggio dell’ anno nel lontanto Nepal dove ho capito l’ essenziale e ciò che vorrò fare nel prossimo anno.

Non dico che tutto questo percorso sia stato facile, anzi, è stato un anno per certi versi molto duro, ma sento che è stato uno degli anni più importanti per la mia crescita e per la mia vita.

Ti lascio con le foto che più mi ricordano questo 2017 al quale dedico un addio pieno di emozioni e mi preparo al nuovo anno che verrà con quella voglia di fare e meravigliarsi che non dobbiamo mai perdere.

Made in Italy Hats by Doria 1905

Nearby Piazza Maggiore in the center of Bologna, I have been in one of the most beautiful shop of the city where you can spend hours trying so many types of hats, all made in Italy.

Doria 1905 was a beautiful discovery for me. The liberty-style shop really brings you into another era, and Michele was the perfect guide to choose between so many different models. I couln’t resist to make a small video to him while was turning an hat into different others. Really amazing and perfect for travellers!!!

At the end I chose a light and very versatile cup I thought it was perfect both the city and my life in Ibiza. I think it will be a complement  we can not do without for the coming seasons.

A special thanks goes to my dear friend  Alessandra Lepri who makes me to know this tresaure, as well as have had a nice time with my friend always Syusy Blady, with whom we share the passion for travel and now …. Also for hats.

A pochi passi da Piazza Maggiore nel centro di Bologna, mi hanno portata a visitare una delle cappellerie più belle della città, quelle dove staresti per delle ore provando tutti i modelli esposti facendo un viaggio nel tempo che ogni cappello rappresenta.

Doria 1905 è stata una bellissima scoperta. Il negozio in stile liberty ti fa veramente entrare in un’ altra epoca e la gentilezza di Michele, bravissimo nel raccontarti, spiegarti e farti provare tutto con una pazienza unica è stato il mio cicerone in questo mondo dell’ accessorio. Ho fatto anche un video dove Michele ci racconta i tanti modi in cui si trasforma uno dei loro modelli fatti di feltro, un cappello versatile e soprattutto da viaggio.

Tra tanti colori e modelli, alla fine ho scelto una coppola color chiaro, molto versatile e direi perfetta sia per la città sia per la mia vita ad Ibiza. Credo tra l’ altro che sarà un complemento dei quali non potremo fare a meno per le prossime stagioni.

Un ringraziamento speciale va alla giornalista e bravissima organizzatrice Alessandra Lepri che mi ha permesso di conoscere questa “chicca” bolognese, oltre che avere trascorso un simpatico momento con la mia amica di sempre Syusy Blady, con la quale condividiamo la passione per i viaggi, ed ora….anche per i cappelli.
