Secret Places in Ibiza: “la Font de Balafia”

Good morning!!

I start a new week showing you one of those secret places we have here on the island. This is not far from San Lorenzo and just nearby of the ancient village of Balafia that offers a very good sample of Eivissan traditional architecture.

The village is composed of five traditional houses and two defensive towers that form a place of high archaeological interest. At a short distance from the main village there is the Font de Balafia, in the countryside. The atmosphere is amazing and ‘ it’s one of those places where time seems to stand still, where the stones contrasting with the white wall, and where you can find narrow streets that bring you into the thick vegetation creating a magical and etheric ambience.

Buongiorno!!

Oggi inizio la settimana presentandoti uno di quei luoghi un pò segreti dell’ isola e che si trova poco lontano da San Lorenzo. In concreto sono stata a fare una passeggiata nei pressi dell’ antico borgo di Balafia, il più antico conservato sull’ isola e del quale si hanno notizie dal XV secolo. In questo luogo si può apprezzare la vera architettura ibizenca con antiche finche e due torri, tutte private. A poca distanza dal borgo principale si trova la Font de Balafia, immersa nella campagna e facilmente raggiungibile per una stradina sterrata.

E’ anch’ esso uno di quei luoghi dove il tempo sembra essersi fermato, dove i muri in pietra contrastano con il bianco della fonte, e dove puoi trovare strette stradine che si inoltrano nella fitta vegetazione creando un’ atmosfera incantata.
